CLASSES MISSED AND MAKE-UP POLICY
Classes missed are not reimbursed. We do not offer make-up classes on a regular basis. We make exceptions in the case of illness and when there is availability.
In order to make-up a missed class:
- Make-up must be completed during the session in which the class was missed
- Make-up must be scheduled ahead of time by sending us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or letting us know in class
ACBXKids follows most of the NYC Department of Education calendar. No capoeira classes are held on snow days and some school holidays – no make ups will offered for such cancellations. Dates that may affect ACBXKids classes will be posted on this page.
ANNUAL STUDENT SHOWCASE AND GRADUATION CEREMONY: THE BATIZADO
Students participate in ACBX’s annual student capoeira arts performance and graduation ceremony, an event customary in the art of capoeira, known as the Batizado. The event is a celebration of capoeira and related arts and serves as an opportunity to recognize the achievements of our students by receiving their belts (cords). Guests artists / masters from Brazil are invited to participate in this event, and teach a series of workshops the week prior to the event.
A participation fee is required and will be announced closer to the event date. Information about this event is shared in class and via email. This event is held in the month of June, each year.
