CLASSES MISSED AND MAKE-UP POLICY
Classes missed are not reimbursed.  We do not offer make-up classes on a regular basis. We make exceptions in the case of illness and when there is availability.
In order to make-up a missed class:
1. Make-up must be completed during the session in which the class was missed
2. Make-up must be scheduled ahead of time by sending us an email at frontdesk@acbx.org

PARENTS ETIQUETTE DURING CLASS TIME
Parents are highly encouraged to leave the room while class is taking place (specially for new students). In our experience, students tend to get distracted and/or behave differently when parents are in the room. Eventually, your child will learn to tune out distractions. Please do not come over to your child to correct/teach while class is taking place. Allow your child to focus and follow instructions from teacher(s).
Toddlers’ parents may step in if teacher(s) deems it necessary to help the young child feel more comfortable. However, note that it is not a parent and me class. Move away from the class area as soon as you see is possible.
Please avoid loud conversations, cell phones ringing, unattended siblings as it interrupts the class and disrespects the teacher.
No food is allowed in the studio.

CALENDAR

ACBXKids follows most of the NYC Department of Education calendar.  No capoeira classes are held on snow days and some school holidays – no make ups will be offered for such cancellations.  Dates that may affect ACBXKids classes will be posted on the ACBX events calendar tab and on social media. Click here to the calendar.

THE BATIZADO: ANNUAL CAPOEIRA ARTS FESTIVAL, STUDENT SHOWCASE AND GRADUATION CEREMONY
Students participate in ACBX’s annual student capoeira arts performance and graduation ceremony, an event customary in the art of capoeira, known as the Batizado. The event is a celebration of capoeira and related arts and serves as an opportunity to recognize the achievements of our students by receiving their belts (cords). Guests artists / masters from Brazil are invited to participate in this event, and teach a series of workshops the week prior to the event.

A participation fee is required. Information about this event is shared in class and via email. This event is held in the month of June, each year.
