Capoeira is a dynamic art form that encourages practitioners to  work together as a collaborative team. The roda de capoeira – the circle formed by students to play capoeira –  requires that all participants have an active role; playing instruments, singing, clapping, performing movements. Thus, a supportive environment that encourages cooperation and teamwork, develops organically.

By cultivating creativity and encouraging self-expression in a fun and supportive environment, students develop spatial awareness, motor-coordination and rhythmic abilities.

Our encouraging teaching approach allows students to develop valuable skills –  confidence, respect, perseverance, grit, leadership, problem-solving, empathy – that will accompany them for a lifetime.

Through the practice of Capoeira kids can:

  • be active and develop health awareness
  • develop empathy
  • develop social skills and rhythmic abilities
  • build confidence and discipline
  • develop leadership skills
  • develop cultural awareness
  • embrace diversity
